IN THE PROCESS OF TIME

The fact that time flies fast doesn't mean that the Lessons that comes with Time should fly off. You must have been stuck in traffic at a particular point in your life, especially if you reside in Lagos. I've heard stories of passengers and motorists being stuck in traffic for hours (I mean total stand-still). I felt they exaggerated sometimes until I had a first-hand experience. I was on my way to visit a particular friend of mine, where I was headed to shouldn't take me more than 25 minutes maximum, but unfortunately I ended up spending 2hours 30minutes on a journey of 25minutes. But that's part of the price you pay to get the prize in Lagos.  While stuck in traffic I was always checking my wristwatch so as to know what time it was. My wrist would have screamed at the top of its voice if it could do that day. The gridlock defied all odds that day, including my Driver's tenacious effort. I figured out there was nothing I could do, so I enjoyed the gridlock as it wa

THE COMPLEMENTARY EFFECT

In today's section of picking Lessons from the Environment, the Sky will be our case study. Beauty alone isn't what the Sky is embedded with, it's also adorned with lessons. An example of such lessons is the complementing effect, even the sky has entities that complements it in order to be at it's very best.  The Sky alone cannot be at its peak by itself, and as a result of that it works alongside with other elements of Nature.  During the day it works with the Sun to give light, energy, and beauty to the Earth, before the Sun eventually goes ahead to set in the evening.  When the Sun sets another element takes over in ensuring that the sky isn't left bare. This second element is the Moon, the moon complements the Sky with its variety (full moon, halo moon, half crescent moon). It ensures that the Sky is at its best even during the night. Another element of Nature pays its own qouta of complement, this element are the Stars that that we see at night, the Stars adds

DON'T STOP MOVING

Not all beautiful things that's embedded in Nature are beautiful from the very beginning. Some of them go through some processes before they come out so beautiful. An example of such elements are the beautifully carved stones that we stumble upon at the riverbank or seashore. These stones were made beautiful by the things they were subjected to. They became the way they're currently as a result of consistent contact with water and themselves, the transformation was birthed consistently not instantaneously. They first had to find their way to the riverbank or the seashore by agents of dispersal(Man and wind in this context), they literally rolled their way into the river or the sea. Upon contact with water and themselves they began to evolve bit by bit as their transformation is dependent on their contact with themselves and other water. Their rough and ugly edges began to become smooth with time as they began to be beaten to shape by the water and themselves. I'm pretty su

SPRING UP

Have you ever come in contact with gates that have Springs? I came across one of these gates not too long ago; these gates make a whole lot of noise, but asides from the noise they communicate a whole lot of lessons. I began to ponder on gates that have Springs attached to them and here are some of the things I noticed about them- although they make noise, they return back to their initial position immediately they're opened, the Spring has the ability to bring the gate into its initial notwithstanding how it was opened. As Humans, our productivity is dependent on God and people around us. Just like the gate, you also need a spring in your life. What do I mean by Spring? This spring is not made of metal, these Springs are people that you're surrounded with in other to ensure that you remain balanced, and be the very best you can be in all ramifications as they keep you in check at all times. You need to have such Springs that can be able to put you back on track, one of the fun

LESSONS IN THE SLIGHTEST PLACES

There are numerous Life lessons embedded in our daily activities, if only we take our time to give proper attention to the things that happen around us.  One of the lessons can be drawn from a woman cooking with a charcoal stove. She first begins to set the charcoal into the stove, she then goes ahead to look for nylons and other materials that'll aid combustion. After all these are in place she goes ahead to set the charcoal and other substances on fire, she also doesn't get discouraged by the smoke that rises up first because she's more than assured of the fact that if all things are in place, the smoke will become flames of fire. She advances to take a sit to intentionally monitor the progress of the fire. She doesn't just sit alone, in her hand is a substance to fan the flames evenly, she also shields the fire from being put off by the wind. She maintains that position until the flame is potent enough to successfully cook whatever she wants to. The above scenerio sp

DON'T SLEEP ON IT

It isn't just raining water alone, it's raining lessons also and I'm super excited about all of the lessons the rainy season comes with.  I know you might be wondering what lessons one could learn from this season but, be rest assured I'll share one of them with you. We shouldn’t just be all covered in our duvets or blankets when rain pours down upon the Earth. We should also be open to maximize the lessons that comes along with the rain. It isn’t a cold weather alone, neither is it just one to get all cozy, it’s a weather for learning. One of the lessons that this season comes with is found in SHOE-PRINTS. You must have seen a hundred and one shoeprints this season, especially on a muddy road or path while coming in or going out whenever it had rained. These prints have different sizes and soles. To our greatest advantage those shoeprints are there to guide and lead us on how to tread on such paths if they’re well maximized. Those shoeprints show us what happened when

HE'S IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL

It’s nothing less of a wonder how God speaks to us even with mundane things!!! I never realised that the ESCALATOR could be used to express something so real and important. The same escalator which we stand on to convey us UPWARDS and DOWNWARDS speaks deep things. We’ll have our fears and worries during the good times and the bad times. Take for example, a young person in his mid 20’s smashing his/her goals, earning an amazing salary, has a very good ride. But still posed with the fear of crashing, not having it all rosy any longer, and above all almost consumed by thought of being a mediocre. Think about another individual who hasn’t had it easy all through. Struggling to make ends meet to no avail, already at the verge of letting depression have its way, and finding it difficult to hold unto to any thread of hope. The two individuals above are in critical and important times of their lives. Most times we’re quick to forget that God remains with us in our UPs and DOWNs. We need to k
